A lifesaving defibrillator for RVR
Help us bring this lifesaving device to our railway
Please help us raise the funds for a defibrillator, secure cabinet and their installation.
Every year, thousands of people suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests where survival rates are tragically less than 10%. However, having an onsite, easily accessible Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can dramatically increase the chance of survival to as high as 70% if used within the first few minutes.
Saving lives
At our model railway, we are proud to be run by a team of dedicated volunteers. Many of these volunteers fall within the highest risk category for cardiac arrest—men aged 65 and over.
Beyond our team we also welcome hundreds of visitors of all ages to our site each year on public running days, parties or special events.
We want to keep everyone who visits Rainsbrook Valley Railway as protected as possible.
Our Goal
We are raising £2,500 to fund the purchase and installation of a defibrillator and a heated, all-weather external cabinet at Rainsbrook Valley Railway. This ensures the device remains rescue-ready and accessible to any of our volunteers or visitors at all times.
